Studio Classes

A new series of in-person classes start soon.

Every part of jewelry is seen, touched, felt, assessed

Which part of your designs do you want to make more special?

Spring classes include a review/update of finishing techniques

A poor finish obscures a good design,
and a good finish enhances an average design.

Review and improve your technique within each class.

The studio class is for you if you want to

learn a new skill or a setting technique

get help to finish a tricky project

advance your design voice

start something wonderful

Classes are scheduled every other week, allowing time between lessons to make progress on your project.

Class meets every other Monday in four-week sessions. Excepting holiday weeks.

My studio is in the Oakhurst neighborhood of Decatur, GA.

$260 per 4-week session

Day class 10:30 am – 1:30 pm

Night class 5:30 – 8:30 pm

Spring 2024

March 18

April 1, 15, and 29

Please Note: Make ups for missed classes is not guaranteed, though any open spots are available for those who need them.

Students in the Winter class did all this and more:

  • perfected their basket setting  method for an emerald cut gem on a wide shank
  • started a fanciful dangle earring design with fused connections
  • learned flush setting, made a point burnisher
  • carved a wax for a special ring
  • reviewed the formula for the rolling bangle bracelet
  • made a series of spinner rings
  • prong set a series of gem pendants with exposed backs
  • designed a custom clasp for a pearl necklace
  • reviewed soldering basics, learned new tricks for holding pieces when soldering

The small class size offers exceptional one-to-one instruction on exactly what you want to learn.

Students are encouraged to listen in, ask questions, and offer feedback on all instructions.

We share all knowledge exchanged within the group.

With four students working on individual projects and sharing information, it’s like having four workshops in one.
